Mr. Mohamed Kallon, CEO of RMFA and Vice President of ARMFA, represented Sierra Leone at the ARMFA Executive Committee meeting in Nairobi, Kenya. The meeting coincided with the launch of a benchmark study by ARMFA and SSATP to assess the state of road maintenance funds (RMFs) across Africa. The study aims to evaluate RMF effectiveness, identify best practices, and propose governance reforms.
The study focuses on enhancing RMF sustainability, strengthening financial and institutional capacities, and ensuring infrastructure resilience, especially against climate change. It aims to provide a framework for long-term sustainability and improved governance.
Key objectives include identifying successful governance models, addressing underfunding and inefficiencies, and advocating for climate-resilient funding. The findings will support policy reforms and regional cooperation for sustainable economic growth across Africa.
